I don't understand why they didn't throw the 37 into the new EX THIS year instead of making a 35 then a 37 wtf?!

this is great!! the G37 coupe is already slower than the G35 sedan, and now they up the power on the sedan, so now we are basically screwed.

The G37 isn't slower, but it's defintely no that much faster than the G35 sedan's.

It's HP is staying the same and it's losing torque, so unless there's some sort of massive weight reduction going on, I would think it'd be slower than its US counterpart.

Damn, I would've really considered getting a 7-speed auto if it were available...even a 6 speed would've had me thinking. People with a 07-08 AT sedan must be feeling like the 06 3 series in 07.

People on G35Driver were saying the sedan might come with an 8 inch monitor??

Looks like updated side skirts, front bumper, wheels, brakes, and transmission (7 speed AT) for the Sedan. That may make up for the reduction in torque if geared right. This engine will likely have a flatter torque band than the 35 so it may also make up for the reduction in peak torque there. They really should have kept the torque up if possible though.
Edit.. I just noticed the following post regarding the power

"only" 306hp and 258ft-lb torque. Sounds to me like with a 7-spd auto, de-tuned 3.7l VVEL engine they're shooting for better fuel efficiency than the G35 here in the US, but same performance.

I read that as well, but the final numbers are not out yet, and this is what European press release says for the G37 Coupe:

Quote:
G37 Coupé
• Stunning, uncompromised styling
• Two plus two cabin
• Rear-wheel drive driving dynamics with Four-Wheel Active Steer availability
• Potent 3.7-litre V6 engine producing over 310PS
• Six-speed manual or advanced seven-speed automatic
• Class leading passive safety features including pedestrian-friendly pop-up bonnet
It says over 310PS and over 350NM, same as the G37 Sedan.

The USDM G37 actually gets 335PS and 366NM, so who knows.
