07 Model is disappointing

Wasn't the G35 the orginator of the styling for the M and FX? The new model looks like a cross between a Camry and the BMW 3 Series. And the front looks like it was copied from the M. The car looks tamed and the wild aggressive side has been sacrificed in the design, what's up with that? Is this the high end luxury car or just another situation like the Maxima turning into the Altima?
