First Lakeland WFL/CFL Mini-Meet - Saturday, May 13
The first Lakeland WFL/CFL Mini-Meet is Saturday, May 13, with dinner starting at 5:00pm. The Meet will be held at Don Pablos Restaurant in Lakeland, FL.
Lakeland is about half way between the Orlando and Tampa Bay areas and should give FGC members in all the main CFL citys equal opportunity to attend the Meet. There are several good restaurants on Route 98 that are very close to the Interstate (I4), so hopefully we'll have other Meets in Lakeland in the future.

I drove over to Lakeland this afternoon for a test run, since quite a few of us have never been to the Lakeland Don Pablos. It's easy to find, once you realize that it's inside the Lakeland Square Mall, and not particularly easy to see from Route 98. The easy way to get there from the Interstate (I4) is to exit North on Route 98 and make a left turn at the second traffic light. That's the entrance to the Lakeland Square Mall. Make another left turn when you come to a stop, then cruise past the Toy's R Us until you see this sign:
Turn left and you'll see Don Pablos Restaurant behind the trees.
If you turn a bit more to the left you'll see lots of available parking in front of an old, closed Gateway Computer store. That looks like a good place for us to park.
I'll probably get there around 4:00pm and get some parking set up. I recommend everyone try to get there by at least 4:30pm so we can shoot the breeze for a few minutes before we go inside for dinner. Dinner is planned for 5:00pm.
