Which florida drivers are using light flywheel?

Which florida drivers are using light flywheel?

I am in the market for a lightwieght flywheel and clutch. The JWT has been well documented. I am looking into the RPS units or clutchmasters.

I'd love to hear your feedback regarding the flywheel noises (cement mixer, etc).

Also, I am not sure what shop to go to. So far I have spoken to JapTrix (PB) , Titan (ORL) , and Next level (ORL). I don't mind driving, but I'd like to go to a great shop. Miami is not out of the question either, if you know a shop there.

so far, JapTrix suggests the ACT clutch and no flywheel. Titan said go with either a clutchmaster FX300 and no flywheel or the RPS max/flywheel combo. Next Level has mixed feeling on clutchmasters, likes ACt, and thinks the RPS could be great (never done an RPS on a G/Z, but used them on others.)

The guys at Jap Trix Racing are very good friends of mine, & they have done all the mods on my ride, And these guys definetly knows G35/350z in and out...

another shop to go to is Innovations Performance who have worked on djniknala's cand pearlwhite03's cars.

I remember reading somewhere on my350z.com that the JWT clutch was made by ACT...

pm 2slo2bfurious, neffster, or djniknala (i'm sure there are more, i'm just forgetting names) to find out what they thought of their aftermarket clutches/flywheel...

If I could go back I'd go something like RPS or ACT. The JWT is doing fine, its pretty quite now that I've replaced some stuff that needed to be replaced in the first place.

Mainly because I am going to have the tranny out, I might as well replace it.

If the stock flywheel is glazed, can it be resurfaced? And how much to do it? a light flywheeel is only about $400.

I would like to keep the quietness of the stock flywheel, but a lighter reciprocating mass is easy and keep HP. I just don't want a "cement mixer." I have never heard anyones car yet, but that is how everyone describes the JWT flywheel.

I asked around when I had to change out my clutch, and the answer I got was a definate no to cutting the flywheel. I did have a guy that was willing to do it for me at my own risk, but then it didn't even really need to so I didn't. Chances are you don't really need to either?

I went with the JWT combo mainly because of price and because I could have it the following morning that I ordered it. My mistake was assuming the dealership would install all the additional hardware pilot bushing throwout bearing etc with the install and just put it into the work order since that stuff usually gets replaced with every clutch job. Of course that's not their fault, just saying I should have said something because they used my old parts , so that's why for more than 6 months I had to live with a car that sounds worse than any cement mixer. Then I dropped the tranny and changed it out the stuff myself (that is the last time I will try to drop the transmission). I also noticed I might need a new disc in probably less than 7k~8k miles I'd imagine. I don't really abuse my car either, maybe just some spirited driving on the weekends, if I ever feel the urge.

Anyways, after seeing the wear on the flywheel and clutch, I'd say I wish I would have tried another combo, I have about 12k on the clutch right now, but I was expecting this to last as long as the stock combo.... but who know's what will happen.
