Love Bugs in North Fl

I was on the highway today with my G and came home only to find a bunch of lovebug carcasses on my front end. Those shameless creatures! I was wondering what is the best way of getting them off while doing the least harm to the paint?

Boy does this bring back memories of when we lived in Gainesville!

I suggest using an automotive adhesive trim remover from 3M or similar brand. This will remove the bugs and their protein without harming your paint.

I used some citrus spray i had from before called Goo Be Gone, let it set for a few minutes, then washed it off and it worked like a charm. I think though that i will probably invest in a nose mask since my car is black obsidian and it shouldn't look as ugly as it would on a different color.

Congrats on the purchase, Romulus! Do you mind if I use your e-mail review of your purchase and post it on the forum?

As for the love bugs, definately invest in a colgan bra (www.colgancustom.com) for your G. In my oppinion, I think they fit better than the factory nose mask and don't use those plastic clips to keep it body of the car that can scratch your paint. I have this and a clear bra by Allan Selligman (www.invincaman.com) to safeguard my front end. You can never have enough protection...

Step #1: Apply Clear Bra - see ISI (club sponsor) at the link on the club website

Step #2: Apply Zaino over the clear bra (club sponsor) at the link on the club website

Step #3: Wash with warm water, zaino car wash soap and a cotton cloth and the love bugs will simply wipe right off.

That's what I do.

Yeah you can give my e-mail review.

I can't wait for those things to go back into hibernation because i get so anxious and want to wash the front end every day cause i heard there's acid in their blood that can eat through the paint.

A long time ago, I heard that spraying Pam cooking spray worked against love bugs so I tried it. It doesn't work. It just made a gooey mess on the front of the car. LOL The things we'll try to save our cars from love bugs.

Love bugs are horrible, but how about driving over Lake Jessup on the 417, especially at night. CRIPES!!! What a mess. I avoid it like the plague!
