brake issues
so my brakes are pulsing sometimes when i stop. pads look fine so im thinking its the rotors. infiniti wants $450 to turn them all or $250 for just the fronts. i dont know brakes that well though so im trying to understand the whole turning deal. but what im thinking is, if i need to spend that much why not just go ahead and upgrade everything. i drive pretty aggressive and brakes are definitely something ive wanted to do. what im wondering is if something like a stoptech stage 2 (new rotors, pads, ss lines and dot4 fluid) is adequate to spend the $ on. say i go vortech, is that enough stopping power? what do you guys think?
ive thought about a brembo setup for $2000 or bbk but thats $3500+. until i have that much power or track the car, i dont really see a need.

mine have been doing the same thing lately...pretty sure the rotos are just worn/warped and need to be resurfaced. im going to just buy those r1concepts rotors...a new set costs as much as turning them lol
Warped Rotors.........
Yea, you have warped rotors. It's really scarey when you're doing 70 MPH +
and need to apply the brakes quickly, it can almost jerk the wheel out of your
hands. Most of the time this is caused by not torqing the wheels to specks
along with the massive amounts of heat gererated by the brakes. With these
two factors the rotors begin to change shape.....warp. Don't go to Infiniti
to get them turned, try a reliable brake shop in your area.

Don't take it to the dealership... find those mobile rotor turning guys, its like 40 bucks for all four, and even a brake repair place will do it for alot less than the dealership.... 450 is crazy, that's more than new rotors and pads...

yup i figured they're warped from overtorquing the wheels. ask sean how tight they were. stupid tire shops.
dealerships are a joke. no way i was letting them do it.
so chuck you really think i should just turn them rather than upgrade everything? i would like better brakes with the way i drive, just wondering if its worth it.
found a couple options around $6-700. im sure i can save about $100 piecing a kit together, im just lazy.

ya i know i dont need something big right now. but do i just turn the rotors and see how the work or go ahead and get new ones? and if im getting new rotors, i might as well do pads, lines and fluid. so instead of that xo2 exhaust, ill use the $ to do this.
Plenty of people have stock rotors that are still good. I'm sure you can find a pair up there. Get them turned and try them out before you go spending 4k on a 140mph tops car. Make the car fast enough to need the brakes or better yet have def plans on making it need them. late mike
lmk how that goes...just to let u know i got quoted (copied from pm):
for the track setup, it is going to be $345 (discounted 20%) + $70 for pads + $47 (shipping). Grand total is $462.
for the non track it is $272 (discounted 20%) +$70 for pads +$47 shipping. The grand total is $389.
