Arrow 2007 HIN Orlando - Pictures

Bill and I drove over to Orlando's Hot Import Nights (HIN) yesterday, Saturday, July 7th and had a blast checking out all th action. Ran into lots of friends at HIN, some were showing their cars, some weren't.

In case any of you haven't been to a HIN in Orlando, they always turn out the lights to make it look like it's night time. This first picture was a beacon for the event... anyone know what it is? ...more later...

HIN Orlando is known for having some wacky promotions. Dunlap ran a contest that required all the participants to shave their head into the Dunlop symbol. The first person spotted with that haircut after 10pm won a free set of Dunlop tires. A good deal if you won (maybe), but hard to explain if you didn't.

This guy doesn't look too happy.

The had radio controlled cars that drifted around the track. Pretty cool. The drivers were pretty good... most of the time.

I think this little Mini won the trophy for the most gauges in a line on the dashboard of one car. Incredible. I wonder if they even bothered to hook them all up?

The guy with the orange Volkswagen was back again... This year he installed a Wii in the back and was bowling in the isles of the car show... pretty cool.

This car was pretty wild. I think it was an RSX, but I'm not sure. I would have asked the owners, but their car was being judged while I was there and I didn't want to bother them.

Think they have enough screens? I guess they don't want to be bored while they're cleaning the engine compartment.

This is a strange Nitrous system. I'm not sure what the six separate valves do?

This was a very nicely done Integra.

Tail lights look familiar?

more to come...

Sometimes you just can't get enough bass... Why not just add a few subwoofers in the dashboard? I have to admit... I've never seen subs in the front dashboard before...

Not enought room on the dashboard... No worries, Mate... Just put them behind the front seat... maybe add a few more for good measure...

No room on the dash, and no room behind the front seats either... Still no worries... just add a few in the back to make up for the difference... then throw in a few more for good measure...

Been wondering about the blue light or the roof of the building? Here's the answer... Sean Gilley's new stereo system LEDs were bright enough to reach the ceiling... Sean's new stereo system looked pretty hot... first dual 4080 system I've seen... very clean!

Ron entered his super-clean 350Z. It was looking good as always... New wheels looked great, Ron...

If there was an award for the cleanest engine compartment matched by engine power, it would have to go to Ron's Z... super clean with, let's just say, abundant horsepower...

Chuck's new stereo system also looked good in the dark...

Chuck's interior was also ship shape... The A-Pillar gauge tree really looks good and adds a really cool look to his interior...

Ian showed his Coupe at HIN this year and it looked great with his new wheels...

Matt entered his gorgeous Laser Red Coupe this year. It was looking very sleek with his new grille.

It was great to finally meet Nolan from the G35frenzy web forum... I've chatted with Nolan for a few years and was looking forward to meeting him and seeing his spotless IP Coupe in person.

Of course I had to take a shot of Nolan's blue Brembo calipers... very nice.

more to come...

There were more heavily modded engines at this HIN than I remember seeing before. Some pretty cool stuff and a lot of individual creative thinking. Check out the inlet pipe and hand crafted plenum on this Honda... very cool... reportedly ran 9.0's in the quarter mile.

Lots of hand designed/crafted parts...

I thought this was one of the nicest adaptations of a carbon fiber hood that I've ever seen. I don't know if they bonded the red into the CF or misted or "ghosted" this hood... but it looked great...

Z Fever guys in Tampa hand crafted this gauge pod onto the top of a G35 dashboard. Nice work...

There were a few other interesting things going on... I'm not sure what was happening here, but I almost forgot to take a picture...

My friend kwerncj... The other guy was way too slow with his camera (now that's a box camera)... I hope he finally got a shot of his friend...

...another new friend...

...she was representing a company that I was interested in... whatever company it was...

That's about it...

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures...

Great pics. This is actually a Toyota Celica. He's the overall points leader for the year. I don't remember the 350z headlight conversion when it was out here on the west coast.

Cool pics of the Florida Gs. Love the stereo set ups.

I love Rons Z. One of my if not my favorite out there, touched every aspect of his ride.

More lights in and out of the cars next year.

It's time to change your avatar, Ron. Get those crappy Mayas out of there.

Those blue LEDs on my capacitor sure are bright. I need to get a disco ball to hang above them.

The cylinders surrounding the NOS tank appear to be audio capacitors.

I hope you don't mind me adding a few of mine to your thread. I didn't take too many.

These are of the OZOC (Orlando Z Owners Club) cars that attended.

This car had a bar in the back seat. It was a Chrysler 300C.

Here is Chuck getting his face burned away by the light from my capacitor.
