dell is crap when it comes to laptops. sony is overpriced. alienware is too much pc unless you game or do video stuff. im on a 5yo toshiba right now thats never had any problems. used it for gaming, 3d design, etc. we all had laptops for engineering and pretty much all my good friends stuck with toshiba.

I've been issued IBM Thinkpads. They are now Lenovo and I must say their quality has been going downhill thus far.
Failed NIC, Failed Modem, Failed Memory Slot, and Failed Graphics.

Consumer Reports has Sony, then Toshiba at the top with Gateway at the bottom for all around problems reported.

don't buy toshiba or anything with a sony DVD or CD drive in it. I have a dell and love it (except for the DVD-RW drive made by sony lol).

You've been watching too many of the stupid Appel television commercials...

Dell has relatively good prices and produces pretty good notebooks. Their service is fair; good if you pay for the Gold Support... they speak English for Gold Support...

i actually really liked the DV9000t because it can play HD DVDs(already have a PS3 for blu ray) and thought it would be cool to have...but i figured i wont be on this laptop as much as id really want to for entertainment...so with the 500$ coupon i found online...i could get a pretty good notebook from dell for under $1300, which is hard to find from other makers...as for the Mac, ive been to the store and checked them out...they are nice but pricey...thanks for the tips guys...
