turbo/supercharged?
turbo/supercharged?
If anyone could help me. I have a 05 g35 6mt and would like to put a supercharger or turbo on there. But I am finding that not very many companies make a kit that fits the 05. I want a bolt on kit that is made for the car. I do not want to have to tune anything. That is when you run into nothing but problems. Apparently the newer mrev engine has changed the fuel mapping among other things that make the old kits not work without a lot of work and trial work. I was wondering if anyone has used on there 05 or 06 a vortec supercharger kit. They say they do have one for the newer engine. But I don't know how reliable that is or how reliable they are. Can someone tell me if they have heard of any info for the 05 6mt and forced induction. Thank you so much...
The newer motors are "RevUp" motors.. not mrev (mrev = Motordyne product). There are a lot of kits that will work on the "RevUp" motor, but most of them are tuner kits. Thus meaning that their mostly not just bolt on kits. Depending on your goals.. if you're going to be wanting more and more power.. then a tuner kit is going to be wanted. If you're going to be content with under 400 hp.. then you can go with the Stillen Stage 2 Kit that's just a direct bolt on. That'll bring out about 320rwhp. Vortech with a tuner kit (of course tuned however) but just bolted on with the stock 3.33 pulley will bring out about 380. If you bring it to a tuner that knows what they're doing then you won't have to upgrade anything else. Everything that you'll need will be in the Vortech tuner kit. You could also go with a turbo kit just bolted on and tuned correctly with a non-aggressive tune, and you'll be fine and it'll be reliable. You just have to ask yourself what you want to do exactly. Read up more on what you're planning on doing to your motor. I know I may sound like a jerk.. but going with forced induction on your car... but not knowing that the newer "revup" motors are "revup" motors, leads me to believe that you haven't gone into the "knowing" of what you're going to get into. Search a little more, find out a little more about the motor, the pro's and con's of going with forced induction. It's a big step going FI.. search more.
yeah but if im not misttaken any kit comes pretuned out of the box but you should get it tuned to make it run better. i.e. you can get Greddy and just throw the computer the comes with out tunning, but anyone you talk to about it will tell you you should tune it. The only one that comes pretuned where you cant change the tunning is Stillen. It comes with a lock box but you are looking at spending 5k or more + instillation and your numbers are not going to be that good. I think people only get 50 HP to the wheel. You can do a conservative tune and gain approx 100-135HP safely with other FI kits
all kits come pretuned but you're gonna run super rich. so no matter what kit you get you are gonna have to tune it.
if you want kit that wont give you any troubles and its complete then get the aps tt
