My review of Fast intentions CBE and RHFC

Let me start off by saying i have a 2008 g35x sedan. So after a couple of years of endless research, I bit the bullet and ordered the RHFC last year and it has been sitting in my living room since december. I also order the CBE 18" res in march and i received it last thursday. I was looking for a little sound increase and some extra horses also. So i immediately had the cbe install when i got off work thursday. I would have done both but it was late in the day and it gave me a chance to really hear the difference. BTW this is my first aftermarket exhaust. When i finally started it it made me feel like a little kid again. The sound was perfect. No rasp or drone. It sounded mean but not annoying. So i waited till saturday and had the RHFC installed. Im not sure if it sounds better or louder, but it definitely made the tone a little deeper. It seems a little to low but its still growing on me. Im a newbie to all this. But i will say the fittment was perfect. It was a one shot deal on the exhaust. The kids love it and the wife liked the sound before the rhfc were installed. Here is a little clip i had my little brother take for me. All comments welcome...

Tone too low? No such thing.

My wife can peel out faster than that in her CR-V. Come one, OP... light it up.

Congrats on the FI setup. Everyone loves FI.

The neighborhood looks too quiet time to shake things up. Sounds good, do you have an air intake as well?

anyway congrats on the setup.

I hope with 18" resonators it will have more tone or I'm going to need to change my order to 12".

Ive got RHFC and the CBE with just the magnaflow x (old style) its very deep and sounds great. im thinking about adding some 12" resonators to the piping to quiet it down a bit. other than that, im loving it.

after it was broken in a bit

Hey Austin nice ride, that sounds very nice and not too loud even without resonators. What were your numbers on the dyno? Or how much total hp and torque did your mods produce?

Lol to everybody with jokes on the take off. I get it. This street is super quiet, and there was someone walking 2 dogs in the street as i started to pull off. I will get a better video with a faster takeoff. Im gonna let it break in and give a final opinion. I feel like the tone and volume was perfect with just the cat back. Im gonna try to post some another video tonight. I did have the r2c intake but went back to stock. I plan on getting the stillen gen 3 CAI and a tune, but not until november. Then early next year will be the 2010 sport bumper conversion.

they were lower than expected. 275 at the rear wheels. Johnny Tran at JTran studios worked on my car for over an hour trying to get more out of it, for some reason it just didnt want to make power.

coming from somebody with a Gen 3, i would advise against it. the filters are a pain in the *** to clean, you have to cut holes in your car, and if you dont get it fitted just right you are going to get vibration noises that just get annoying as hell. Stick with K&N drop ins, the gain from the stillen isnt really worth it.

Yeah the Gen 3's are a pain to install but I like the "roar" it makes when on WOT but now I can't hear it because of my FI exhaust. My tuner said that Gen 3's are good and I believe him.
Plus it makes the engine look cooler

Gen3s here too, I do not like the noises it makes sometimes because it's rubbing on the metal. I plan on getting some weather stripping in there to cushion it.

Hmmm, on the fence about the sound. I get mine in a few weeks (hopefully) so I'm crossing my fingers that I will like it in person.

Feeling the same way...I ordered the 18", thinking of changing it to 12".

Yeah, I have the 12" and even I am thinking about non res although I've been told by plenty that the 12' will be loud enough.
