Blown head gasket

Long time , no see!

I've got a G37x with a Stillen supercharger kit, with some minor uprades, like the SOHO cog drive, turbosmart recirculation valve, upgraded serpentine belt & extra pulley, hi flo cats, etc. otherwise no increase in boost. I'm in the process of removing the engine due to a leaking head gasket. I'm planning to rebuild the motor, replacing the timing chains, tensioners, water and oil pump; all with OEM parts or equivalents,no high performance stuff except upgraded metal gallery gaskets and hardware.

The only real upgrade will be forged pistons with a 9:1 compression ratio and forged connecting rods, plus ARP L19 head studs with OEM head gaskets.

Will these engine upgrades be enough to hold 700whp? Do I need to go to Dynosty head gaskets? Upgraded main bearing studs? What becomes the engine's weak point?

How much more boost can I safely get out of the Stillen kit before switching to air/air?

With the drivetrain, I plan to keep the current 7AT transmission until the bugs are worked out of the rebuilt motor, then swap for a VR30 transmission, then increase boost. Then I guess the failure point becomes the differential?

I look forward to comments and advice. Thanks in advance!

Question. Who is your tuner?

I know Moncef at Admin Tuning in TX can answer these questions based on a recent podcast I listened to here:

Soho Motorsports in NC has a good grasp on what the VR30 trans can hold as far as WTQ is concerned as I spoke to them recently on the phone per this post: https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-...torsports.html

Level10 and IPT also offer rebuilds of your current transmission which increase the torque handling capabilities. I know you see alot of trash talk online about these two, but both Pat (L10) and John (IPT) are extremely knowledgeable and can talk directly to the reasons why customers have issues with their rebuilt transmissions (many times too much line pressure and incorrect shift points are used by the tuner). Moncef himself has a L10 transmission in his G37, and it is putting down 500WTQ or more if if I recall correctly (he talks about it in the podcast, it's his daily, so he isn't pushing it that hard).
