coolant leak

Hi

I have a 2012 G37x coupe with around 140,000 miles on it. It has been driving fine with no issues, but i saw the coolant build up around the hose next in the engine compartment. I thought it was only the hose which needed to be replaced since I have not changed hoses at all and i was not leaking any coolant. I brought it to my mechanic and after he put it on the lift saw two places behind the engine block underneath the car which also had coolant buildup. He knows the car decently well but is not a trained infiniti mechanic, but has worked on them. He told me that likely it would be labor intensive repair but doable. He did not give me a good idea about what was exactly wrong (or he did not communicate that well) but thought I would mention it here just to get an idea. I should have taken some pictures when it was up on the lift but i failed to do so. Anybody have similar issues or could let me know what they think it could be with the minimal details I have? I would imagine there could only be a few diffrerent issues that have arisen thanks!

You may want to read through this thread as it highlights the potential hose leaks at the rear of the engine.

At the rear of the engine there is a large coolant crossover pipe (that feeds both cylinder banks) that also has hoses attached for the heater and for the throttle body hoses. While not a common issue as these engines age these rubber hoses and clamps will start to wear out and fail/ leak.

As your mechanic alluded to, it will be a very labor intensive job mainly because there is EXTREMELY limited space between the rear of the engine and the firewall. Doable, but takes time and patience to repair.
