I bought a 2011 g37x with 240,000 miles for $2,500. The inside boots on the front axles are busted. I'm pulling the axles out now, and was planning on cleaning them up and replacing the boots, but I don't really need the AWD. I have a tacoma to drive in the snow. Can I just remove these axles and put everything back together? Or are they required for the integrity of the front suspension?

 

Well, my wife vetoed this idea, so I'm going to buy some cheap axles from Rock Auto.

Now I'm looking at the struts, and their dust covers are broken, so I'm going to see how hard changing them is.
