Cai for a daily driver

I've reading a few threads on here about long tube Cai on g37s. Some have problems of water getting in and messing things up when it rains and others have had no issues. What's the overall opinion of long tube Cai on a daily driver, we do get some heavy rain in Ohio. I was looking at the z1 intake specifically and I plan on getting a mesh grill soon too if that matters.

No personal experience, however, go research filter socks.

I have had no issues with rain since putting on the Z1 intakes. I read that that kind of filter does not need a sock, so I didn't put one.

I would skip the mesh grille though. I think the slats on the stock grille help a lot with keeping the rain out.

I personally prefer the look of the mesh grill to OEM though I see what you're saying about keeping water out better.

I've never had any issues with mine. Ran two differernt set of long tube intakes. I did run some a water shield/sock on my first set, but now that i have much larger Blox filters, I run it without the sock.

I'm in Georgia.
