Limp Mode! Help!

I have an 09’ sedan with about 140xxx. What i’ve noticed is that when I start the car on a cold or rainy day, my car has been going into limp mode. Maybe it’s because I don’t let the engine heat up as much but when I take a long time to start the car and let it sit there are no issues. My limp mode limits my revs to 3,500 rpm and doesn’t turn on the SES light. I saw on another thread that the limit of 3,500 rpm may indicate a faulty VVEL actuator or something along those lines. Has anyone had any similar issues or has any suggestions?

A bad maf cna also limit your rpms too. Cleaning the maf is simple and you should try that first.
