GTR Injectors

I’m sure this is a very dumb question, but I’ll shoot. I’m planning on going flex fuel/e85 on my car next summer. The plan is to run gtr injectors. I just got it tuned yesterday for the bolt ons. I know the gtr injectors are a direct fit, but I’m wondering if the car will need to be re-tuned after installing. If not, I’m going to buy them now so I have them when I’m ready for the fuel. But I figured I’d ask first and know how to plan it out. Thanks I’m advance.

The car will need to be tuned. I would get in contact with your tuner, tell him the plan so he can set you up with an altered map to get you to start/idle/driving. It will save you money to do it all at once.

that’s what I figured. Just thought I’d make sure. I’ll just get the parts over the winter and have them do the install/tune next year. Considering a upgraded torque converter as well because I just don’t trust the 7at.

I’ve considered this as well. But for someone not going boosted, would it even be cost effective? I know you can get the trans itself pretty cheap, but the installation is where it hits. I know it isn’t a direct swap. Where a built torque converter is and will be plenty for what I’m looking for. I know that going cheap is rarely the good option when modifying your car, but the full swap almost seems pointless. I may be wrong about that, I haven’t experienced that trans so I don’t know how much better it is. This is just what I’ve gathered.

Why do you need a converter? If you aren't going to swap then leave the stock unit in there. The 7AT isn't going to let go at bolt-on power. Boost is what breaks it. If that isn't in the plans, I'd just maintain the fluid and not worry about it.

more of failsafe. I know bolt-ons aren’t usually enough to blow it, but I’ve also heard of enough people having issues stock. Not so much blowing it up, just in general. So it isn’t so much of a want as it is a “I know it’ll be good for it” situation. Just trying cover my bases and do things properly.
