Help Header heat protection
Header heat protection
Recently bought a set of ISR headers, getting them ready for install. They're going on my daily driver. Should I send them to JetHot to get coated? Use VHT FlameProof Ceramic paint & primer? Do I heat wrap over the coating? Should I leave them raw? I live in NY, where winters see a fair bit of salt. I get mixed info for this kind of stuff and I can't find any concrete information online. I plan to get tuned with the very controversial use of a flame map. What do you think? To wrap or not to wrap? To coat or not to coat?

Not this car (yet) but Jet-Hot on turbo manifolds and downpipe of my RX7 held up beautifully. Didn't wrap because the temp reduction was already significant.
Wrapped a stainless header for my Jeep and almost every weld failed. YMMV
