X delete for Infiniti’s?

All my friends drive BMW’s almost all of them have this x delete app where they can turn on/off awd and set how much power goes where etc, and it doesn’t hurt anything. That got me thinking, how come such a thing wouldn’t be available for ours cars? Is our awd system not as high tech for something like that. Or just nobody decided to make one yet

BMWs software is basically the open source software of the car world. Very very easy to work with and you can get dealer software for free.

Nissan/Infiniti on the other hand is $$$. Just look at the price of the Consult III

You can do the AWD delete mod...Walkthrough in the DIY section of he forum. Requires a little wiring work and installing a button but can make the car RWD at all times. The system is already 100 RWD until slip then converts up to a 50/50 split; not sure what you'd want to change.

Bmw still has a higher net cost; the car costs much more up front. They shaft you on the front end and usually shaft you on the back end (esp if dealer does repairs).

Oh yeah they do! I'll only ever own the vintage stuff and diy everything.
Anything post-06 from them is absolute trash. The 135i manual being the only exception

Years ago, I was tempted to buy a used 2011 328i xDrive with 6-speed manual, until I looked into what's involved for routine maintenance. One example is changing the fluid in the transfer case. You have to drop the exhaust to do it. No thanks.

Also, the electric water pump is almost sure to fail.

BMWs are beautiful cars to behold and drive, but not to own.

That's usually why you see so many people love them and rave about them during their lease.

I just unplug the connector to the transfer case. No driving issues, just rwd only.
