Used engine + tt or sc?

I just found out my g37 has internal engine failure. Either I get a new one for $16k lmao or I could get a used one for less than $2k with used one some extra mileage.
I’ve been wanting to boost my G for years but it’s a large project. I can’t drive for the next few months anyways so best timing I guess? The engine will be out and exposed already so is this a good approach so far? And any suggestions/recommendations with going tt or sc? 7 a/t RWD btw.

Buy a 2015+ motor with low mileage and swap it in. Stock block is good for 500-600 whp. Your biggest limiting factor is the auto trans, your limited on torque output. That will need to be built to handle over 400-450 wtq safely.

Mine is 2010. I found an engine for sale that’s in a 2010 g37 with 30k extra KM. $1300. Does the year of the engine not matter ?

Newer ones have better flowing manifolds and are less likely to have an issue with the oil gallery gasket. Although some have still had the issue but more related to the bolts backing out. I''d go ahead and get the EPS tuning oil gasket kit and have them replaced and properly torqued down.
