My 08 G37s coupe engine has 170k miles and the gallery gaskets failed , I got quoted pretty high to fix it so I’d rather just get a new motor , I found one from a 2015 3.7 q50 that for rear ended, it has 33k on it , will it go right into my car ? What should I look out for ? Do I need anything extra, same ecu , do I need new harnesses , ?

 

Gallery gaskets cost us 1650 OTD at Nissan dealer. That included w.pump t.stat gaskets oil coolant.

 

If you don't mind my asking, how much was the quote? And from what shop- dealer or independent?

Any VQ37VHR engine will work. Everything mechanically, electronically, and otherwise is the same.

 

I got quoted $1400 from an independent shop, my friend who is a Tech at Nissan will charge me $600 for the labor on swapping , I just recently came across a 2015 Q50 3.7 engine , hopefully it’s good and I can grab it .
