2011 G37s 7AT code p0720

Good afternoon everyone here, my first post on here so hoping I can get some feedback on this. My car is giving a p0720 code for speed sensor and is not shifting above 4th gear and gives a slight jerk every time it’s goers into gear. I’ve recently had this issue a month ago where I had the transmission speed sensor replaced at a shop but it never resolved itself only after about 5 days of breaking it in everyone went back to normal shifting. A month later it’s back again. So far I’ve been told that my car may have a bad valve body and will need to have it replaced and from my local mechanic I was told my crankshaft sensor right under the front right wheel my be shot as I just washed the car a day ago and my right splash shield is off which may have only allowed some water to get in so just allow some time for the sensors to dry out and reset the computer. Can anyone chime in on this ?

I purchased the car right at 98,000 miles , oem tramsmission is still on it but car was always serviced at Infiniti dealership before I got it. Only major issue it gave me was at 105,000 the water pump failed. That flush will be the first on the list, thanks 🤙🏾

I hope you sort out your problem. I am having this issue right now. These are the codes I got p0500,p0720,p1574, and u1000. My mechanic said to replace the vehicle speed sensor and if it doesn't work replace the value body. This is becoming very expensive. How did you fix your problem?

Thanks everyone for all the feedback , everyone above was correct but my problem was the valve body. Mine had some burnt out connectors which caused the car to not shift past 4th gear even with fluid changed.

Nem go ahead and just replace the valve body and make sure it’s the RE7R01A for the 7 speed transmission. Then when it’s in take it to a Infiniti dealer and have them install the lastest software for the transmission flash. It will still run but will be on a old software most likely and will be a bit harsh on downshifts and no ds mode if you don’t So the flash is a must. The main speed sensor is built into the valve body, long as the car still shifts you do not not the connector sensor for that. Good luck nem and everyone with there G’s can’t wait to get a q50 hybridS!
