10 g37 coolant loss 77k

Loosing coolant. Alot. Went to bed with resevoir full. Woke up to it completely empty and radiator slight loss. Pulled the plastic cover. Coated with fluid. Started looking for leaks and found a possible leak above the oil pan. How is this possible if the water pump is internal? Looks like the gasket make may be a culprit?

all hoses checkout. Radiator checks out. Overflow tank checks out and trans coolant lines checkout. Its coming from the block im sure but does that mean waterpump or something else?

A pressure test can help. You should see bubbles or stronger leak if it's external at the point of the leak. Or, have someone stand behind your car after it's warm to check for a sweet smell from the exhaust which would indicate a head gasket problem.

I suspect an external leak since it drained away during the night.

I agree a pressure test is definitely warranted here.

If it's a water pump, which is the next worst thing to a head gasket, then good time to do a galley gasket redo.

no doubt.
Infiniti quoted 2995 for pump t stat and galley gaskets without the whole rear timing cover. Waiting for Nissan's reply on a quote.

infiniti quoted 2650 for just waterpump and T stat.

Your signature should show what year, what model of G37 you have.

So are you saying, your coolant flows out without the car running???

Spill out from where? That possible water pump gasket leak? That symptom sounds like suspiciously like a head gasket leak.
