About to get bolt-ons and tune, is the Z1 upper intake manifold worthwhile?

Hey all,

After waiting a couple of years and doing cosmetic mods only, I decided to go with some bolt-ons! It's pretty exciting since this'll be my first time on any car platform. I ordered myself an Invidia Gemini for an amplified stock sound, FI RHFCs and some Admin intakes that'll work with my stock TB. I ruled out headers since the price/pain to install may not be justifiable. However, I saw Z1 has a core exchange for an upper intake manifold. I read that the motordyne m370 helps slightly at top end but loses low-end where as the z1 will be a little better for mid power? I read some people mentioned "porting" your own manifolds. Is this something that's straightforward that a shop can do?

Have any of you added this mod and feel a difference? I ordered the rhfcs and intakes a few days ago so I have over a month to decide if I want to add anything else since they're built to order. I'm over in GA so I plan to head over to Z1 Motorsports for my tune since they an amazing reputation.

Also looking for any insight for best bang for the buck addons before the tune itself.

Thanks all!

Headers will cost about 2k to buy and install.. I gained 16whp and 3wtq baseline with them..
with the Z1 mod you will get minimal 5-10whp gains through the power band..nothing you’ll really be able to tell

I say ditch the manifold and go with an ecutek tune after you get all of your bolt ons installed. that way you will maximize your gains and make sure the car is running optimally.

best mod that you can do is to change the rear gears if your auto a 3.9 would be nice, manual go with 4.08. if you are awd, forget about it

I bought a used manifold and ported my own. Not hard to do. Not sure if it did anything but I figured for $100 why not?
