Had a service appointment for a "driveline service" among other things. The dealership made it sound like I was getting the fluids in the front/rear diff, transfer case, AND transmission changed. I knew the price at $285 + tax seemed too good to be true. I simply wanted the fluids in the differentials and transfer case changed, I was hesitant on touching the transmission, but it seemed like a good deal at the time. From the receipt, I honestly cannot tell exactly what they did. I had a coupon, so maybe the quantities of the fluids were modified slightly to adjust for the discount? I have no idea how that works on a receipt. If I were to guess, the two "units" of 80w90 fluid went into the rear diff, the 75w90 went into the front diff, and the transmission was partially drained and refilled with the ATF, which was also used for the transfer case? I thought Infiniti highly discouraged that the transmission fluid be partially drained and refilled with a machine? I remember seeing a bulletin about it. Hard to believe a dealership would do this, but I wouldn't be totally shocked. Attached is a portion of my receipt. Any thoughts would be appreciated...
Perhaps the lesson here is to ask the dealer service advisor what the service(s) will actually consist of _before_ agreeing to have them done?
Believe it or not I did just that. But, the receipt and what I was TOLD don't match up. I emailed the service manager to ask for explicit clarification of what was done, we'll see what he says.

This would be my guess too, the front transfer case only takes about 1 qt, leaving about 5 for the transmission.....5 quarts is probably not from a flush which would have probably used closer to 9-12 quarts, 4-5 quarts does sounds right though for a drain and fill which is proper, as you said and AFAIK the dealers discourage/won't do flushes b/c of potential damage...the only thing i cant remeber off the top of my head is if the transfer case uses Matic S, but it probably does
all in all if it was as suspected, the price is reasonable and the work proper..
Looks like they did both diffs and a drain and fill on the transmission. 255 is a great deal. They used mobil 1 for the rear diff, which the local nissan dealer tells me is good for these cars.Mine did a full flush, which I believe drain and fill is the latest SB. Mine put BG in it, so I had them re-do it with Nissan Matic S. Been fine so far.
