faint whistle noise @ 75mph+

2012 G37, ~35K miles

On the last road trip noticed a faint whistle like noise (~2Khz sine wave) at speed ~75 or higher. The noise is only present when the throttle is depressed (even a little). As soon as I lift off, noise goes away. I don't believe the noise is present with the cruise on (at the same speed). It's not loud enough to record, but loud enough to be annoying if the stereo isn't on. Also, this noise does not appear to change in pitch as speeds increase/decrease.

Thoughts?

Your tea is ready? I get a whistle at that speed but it's coming from the passenger mirror.

Ha! I wish. I found a few older threads where the ecm/ecu is mentioned as the culprit. I don't know if it's worth pursuing. Yes the car still has powertrain coverage, but getting a dealer to recognize the issue is going to be a pain. No interstates around here are 70 mph either.
