Possible starter issue

2009 G37xS Sedan. 227,XXX miles.
So I know that my car isn’t getting a strong power draw when starting. You can hear it when I start it. Today I was leaving work, hit the brake and button and the car started but sounded like it was having A LOT of trouble doing so. Usually starts up right away with no problem but it seemed like it took some effort this time.

Any suggestions? The battery was replaced on 12/31/17. No battery light so I don’t suspect the alternator.

Starters work or they don't. Check your battery and charging system. You may have a draw while the car sits causing your hard start.

Definitely a low battery. Why it's low is the question.

A weak cell not accepting a full charge. Very common
Test the cells with a battery hydrometer

Then use your multimeter to measure the alternator output voltage across your battery terminals that I assume that you checked for no corrosion and tight?

You can also monitor your alternator output voltage with this from Amazon

Any carbonated soft drink will clean the oxide build-up on the terminals. Rinse with water.

It could be the battery, or it could be the starter.
Brushes and bushings get worn, create resistance and you have drag when pulling power to the starter. I have the same issue as you do, replaced the battery and still have the same issue. My starter is old, has high resistance and has drag when starting.....

Do this not in your garage or driveway or be ready to rinse off area. The acid will leave white etching

Are you saying soda is a cheaper alternative to a pressure washer?
