Throttle blip problems when low rpm
Throttle blip problems when low rpm
Hi all,
hope someone can give some insight to this problem. Basically im currently driving a 2008 infiniti g37s 6mt and everytime im rolling in neutral and i clutch into first or whichever gear and try to blip the throttle i barely get any response. I have to leave my foot on the throttle to get a response, its as if the throttle does not register the blip. Anytime my rpm is higher than say 900 it will blips fine or if i am at an complete stop. Does anyone else also experience the same problem? Anything helps thank you!

It is possible that the gas pedal needs to be replaced (has happened before) but before you do that, I would do the following:
Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning:
1. Make sure that the accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.

hey entcee,
thank you very much for the reply, i just tried the relearn but am still experiencing the same problem. Im wondering whether it could be the gas pedal because i have good throttle response on all other situations other than when i am rolling at a certain mph, clutching in to a gear and trying to blip the throttle so i can rev match the gear to the mph im going. Other than that throttle responds quite well. Did you have the same problem and did replacig the gas pedal work?

Think this will work for a 7AT? I am having some throttle issues too but some people say that's just the 7AT tranny
The 7AT is VERY reluctant to down-shift as a gas savings measure but that has no impact on throttle action. Try driving in manual mode a little and see if the throttle works correctly. If not, then try the relearn procedure.

Hey jsolo,
sorry what i meant is lets say i am in neutral going 10 mph, i will clutch in then shift to first then proceed to blip the throttle to get to 1.5k, however there would be delayed and small throttle response. This does not happen in the same situation if i am completely stopped or if the rpm is already high and has not settled to idle rpm.

Also, if I'm doing 10 mph, I'll likely go for 2nd gear, not first. These mt's seem difficult get into 1st unless you're standing still.
if ur rolling in ur example at 10mph why are u even trying to go into first u should be going into second. the car usually doesnt even allow the drive to go into first ud have to force it if you really wanted to go into first. are u just trying to make noise or something? or u enjoy the jolt?
I'm trying to think of a scenario where i'm coasting in N at such low speed. The only one that comes to mind is when i'm approaching a stop. Otherwise the car is always in gear. Even then, I don't recall the dropping below 1K. Maybe doing the tps relearn might help. How many miles on the car? Last time a throttle bodies were cleaned?

when you say turn ignition switch on do u mean turn the car on or don't hold down the break and hit it so that just the electric goes on?
