MOVED: Engine oil leak - with pictures - need help fast

Well Hi,

I started to talk about this topic in another thread which was regarding an internal oil leak, which is not what I have.

Just bought the car, G37xS Coupe 2011 with 55 000 miles. Did the oil change and noticed this leak :

When I did my change of oil I cleaned the area with engine degreaser. Heres what it looked like:

After one week of driving ( 500 miles):

after two weeks of driving ( 1000 miles ):

We can see it starts to drip again ( dont know if it is major , 1000 miles driven for this amount of oil )

The thing is I bought this car from a Nissan dealer on the 1st of November , here in canada we have a 30 days legal warranty (which is until 1st of december, in 3 days ) . The dealer is 2 hours away from my house and would need to find a second car etc.

So If this is a minor leak which can be fixed for not expensive I would rather do it on my own, Ive heard people opening up the whole engine to fix a leak and after the job done new problems occured, check engines , etc. So what would be a good suggestion?

Thank you

From: Framingham Ma,
Just bought the car? Where dealer? I'd take it back and make them fix it? Did you buy any warranty? I've never looked on my car at that but I'd like to think it doesn't look like that from the factory?

Yeah bought it almost a month ago, and realized that problem 2 weeks after. At a Nissan dealer which is 2 hours away from my house. Thats what I thought to bring it back to fix it , since there is only a one month warranty. The only problem is it would be a hassle to bring it 2 hours away from home, try to rent another car, fight with the dealer to get this job done for free. The thing im scared most scared of is that they fix this and then other problems start to occur.

I don't mean to minimize your worries, but that seems super minor to me. Frankly, it's almost laughable. I think you and your car will be fine. If it takes over 1k miles to get a single drop of oil to show on a 7 year old car with 55k miles on it, I think you're fine. you know how many audi 2.0T drivers would LOVE to be you? Those things (audis) drink so much oil, you almost only have to change the filter since you're constantly adding oil to it.
