08 G35 sedan manual conversion
08 G35 sedan manual conversion
So I have searched and it looks that the only info I could find was on the v35 manual conversion. I'm ok with the parts list, I was just wondering if anyone has actually done it on here. I am not a fan of automatic cars and am interested in helpful answers that don't include "just buy one it's easier" or "it's going to cost $15k" I'm more interested in if the wiring is similar to the v35 swap, should I go ahead and just swap the harnesses? I've performed a few manual conversions and the work doesn't scare me, I'd just like to know what the wiring is like if possible before jumping in. Thanks in advanced for the help! I've got a list of part numbers and some interchangeable parts between chassis' and options that I've started looking up, that I'll try to post up soon. I haven't seen any of that kind of information collected and posted up anywhere yet.
For sure! I haven't decided if I want to buy a new tranny yet or not.. the ticket really isn't too bad for one. I am also against installing a used clutch and a flywheel that hasn't been resurfaced while I'm in there, so a parts car seems kinda ridiculous for a set of pedals, lines a harness, ecu, cluster and trim panels, being that there's quite an abundance of wrecked v36 platforms recently to pick from. The trick is making sure that the parts that you are getting are the correct numbers being that there is multiples for quite a few of the items. I am working on putting a list together for all of the conversion parts and the corresponding numbers for the different models. That way we have some sort of reference guide to work with. The Infiniti site is a pain to see what you want and it'd be nice to have all of the info in one place instead of in hundreds of pages that you have to access.
Little update, I've made some progress on the parts list, but have been out of town for a little while. I'll try to crank some more out tomorrow sometime, so I can get this stuff up. I'm wondering how to post it all, as it's a good chunk of information.
Just make a reply, and then post 2 or 3 extra replies with "reserved...." in the reply box and you can go back and click "edit post" and insert more text as you go.

I'm interested, but think it would be much better for you to just buy another one. You can pick up salvaged ones for just a couple hundred more than the cost of a new MT+extras. Of course if you're in it for the joy (pain) of projects all power to you!
