P0020 and P0300

Well I went to the 1/4 track and the next day I got a P0020 and P0300. It wanted to die at idle sometimes, otherwise it drove completely fine.

P0020 - P0020 code refers to the VVT (variable valve timing) or VCT (variable camshaft timing) components and the car's PCM (powertrain control module) or ECM (engine control module).

P0300 - P0300 code refers to a cylinder(s) is misfiring or is randomly misfiring.

Obviously, the second code is directly because of the first code so, I'll start there. Some people said to replace the plugs and change the oil before anything else. I just put in GTR plugs and changed the oil 500 miles ago so I doubt that's it. Help a guy out, where should I start?

This is interesting.... According to the Denso site, the 370z, G37 and GT-R use the same plug, the FXE24HR11.

In the FSM, I don't see P0020... Did you mean P0021?
With any VCT code, check your HOT (oil at 80C) oil pressure. It should be > 14 psi at idle.

Do you have an ELM327 / cheap OBD scanner?

You're right, P0021 actually. Also, I haven't checked my oil pressure yet, I'll do that first. Thanks!
