Question DIY 7AT Shifter **** mod for the sedan?

[REPLACING BOOT]
I've looked for a DIY for the 7AT Shifter ****. Does anyone know a version for the sedan? As far as I looked, all I have seen so far is for the coupe. I have the parts and I don't want to risk damaging anything. So, how do I remove the center console? Is it simply popping it out or is there a specific process?

Not too hard, here's a DIY I did, should have most of the info that you'd need IIRC

Thx, blnewt. I went ahead and got it done without seeing this, but it worked out. It is really simple and easy like you said. ENSURE E-BRAKE IS APPLIED AND CAR IS IN NUETRAL. So here it is... I started on the edge here l, using a very small flathead. Just pops out very easily.
You wanna pop this out also.
Start here and slightly twist to begin.
Continue onbthe line and twist ever so often to loosen the part, eventually remove part by hand.Next, pull down on the silver bezel and with the small flathead, pop the tiny metal clip holding the **** in place. Make sure to cup with your hand or something because the clip will fling out fast! When the clip is extracted, the **** will be pulled up easily.

Since the shifter is in neutral, this allows for the center console to be lifted up diagonally and be removed, without the shifter rod getting caught on underneath the bezel.

Also, the power clips for heating seat *****, "smokers" outlet, and the shifter, will be needed to unclip.
Power to the seat heaters. Power to shifter If replacing the boot than remove these 4 screws to get the bracket that goes with the console. Replace boot. Repeat backwards when screwing back on.Next, re-attach power to coesponding clips.

New **** should have it's own clip to go with it. Push down firmly til click. This means that button the the shifter is now in place for use. Push up on boot til there is a firm click. This means the **** and boot are securely attached.
When re-attaching this part, make sure this lines up with the holes for these brackets. It can only fit one way so you cant mess this up. Push in very very firmly. There will be a very sharp and loud SNAP. That means it went in correctly. Push to PARK to silence the most annoying beeping during thia whole process, if u had your door opened.
YAY! All done!
This is what mine looks what. What's yours look like?

I looked into this and I think it would be quite simple to reduce the overall height as well. Would take some cutting and sanding but shouldn't be too difficult. Shave down the plastic engagement tab approx 5-10mm then cut a new relief slot for the retaining clip. Boom done. Now to decide if I want to drop the cash on the Q **** or simply buy a new G ****

Maintaining OEM height is cool and all but I actually dislike it lol. I always felt the **** sat too high. Used to my short shifters in my old manual cars.
