I did a google search, probably related to the shifter but I found a post on myg37 back in 2010. Seems like some people replaced their shift assembly and that was the FIX. Take a look at this: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...m-d-to-ds.html

Hope this helps

^ I second this. I had this problem with mine. I replaced the shift mechanism and it fixed it.

Shift Assembly won’t work

Someone help... my car is Doing the same thing. It either won’t switch to sport mode, or if it does, it goes back to “D”. I brought my car to a mechanic to change the shift assembly which is what everyone in Reddit says seems to solve the problem and is what he recommended as well. He changed it out and said the same problem occurred with the new assembly and that he could not figure it out. He things either wires are grounded or the computer is toast. What do I do.. 2008 G37 coupe with 90k miles
