random DS question.......

After having the car for four years, I finally got around to flipping it over into DS mode, and I honestly can't tell any difference at all. Has it got anything to do with how you drive? I'm not a slug at wheel, but I'm not an especially aggressive driver either.

What am I supposed to be feeling, and/or, what am I doing wrong? Just curious......

Depends. If you leave it in DS Mode in general, you will notice a quick downshift when you go from D to DS. You will also notice higher rev shifts as well as aggressive downshifting upon hard braking. I also noticed that while driving sort of aggressive, it doesn't upshift as often to try and stay in the lower gear versus the higher gear for better MPG. But other then that, it is almost the same.

When it comes to DS + Manual mode, you control the shifts. If you forget to shift, it will hit the rev-limiter. If you forget to downshift and continue to brake until a stop, it will automatically downshift for you. Other then that, push up to upshift and down to downshift (unless you have paddle shifters).

Hope this gives you an idea.

Now that's exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks - I appreciate it.

Also to get it out of the DS+ Manual mode and back to just DS mode, you just shift back to D mode and then right back into DS. This will take the transmission out of DS+ Manual and get it into DS.

Seems you got your answer but just some more info, I throw my G in DS mode when I am looking to make a quick lane change, it seems to give me a quick power boost to make that lane change. The downshifting is a huge notice though with the rev-matching. Its a fun mode to drive in if you're driving more spirited.

Much obliged for the additional info - I think I'm beginning to notice the differences.
