Fuel air ratio problems: bank 1 lean , bank 2 rich.

Anyone have any clue what would cause bank 1 to run lean and bank 2 to run rich.

Long term fuel % trim bank 1: 9.38%
Long term fuel % trim bank 2: - 10.16%
ECU1: closed loop; using O2 sensor for fuel mix.

I cleared the code and restarted the car and the codes P0300 and P1093 returned immediately. P0100B disappeared and was only ever pending.
On Friday I will replace all 6 spark plugs and both PCVs and I will have a multimeter and inline spark tester to test the coil packs and fuel injectors.

thanks in advance.

Very interesting problem! I don't think I have ever seen bank 1 lean and bank 2 to rich on the same motor.

Let's look at what we know:
P0300 - Multiple cylinder misfires detected - generally misfires are the result of a lean mixture.
P1093 - VVEL system performance (bank 2) (too much angle difference or abnormal VVEL actuator current.
P100B - Actual event response to target is poor (bank 2)

A pending code appears when the fault was only detected ONCE. When the fault happens a second time, the CEL is turned on and the code is stored.

It looks like a VVEL issue on bank 2.
Does your OBD-2 scanner support mode $06? (Torque calls it "Test Results")
Can you post the freeze frame data?

Sonic, in order to avoid thread high jack on my end, I sent you a pm. Hit me back if you can help out or know who can. Possible similar issue with stft1 and 2.

I would recommend that you start your own thread. Just copy/paste the first 5 pages of your PM (just kidding, it was not that long )

This way everyone has the chance to give their input.

If your OBD tool can read MAF voltage for bank 1 and 2 we can see if the VVEL system is not working as expected.

I accidentally left my OBD2 sensor plugged in, which apparently killed my battery. After getting it jumped, my car no longer recognized my OBD2. I'm scheduled to take it in tomorrow. When I tried to change my spark plugs (I could only get one changed because my socket extender wasn't long enough) the one plug was black with white stuff on the very tip of the electrodes. Also, for what it is worth, the electronic throttle control actuator/throttle body was dirty around the butterfly valve.
