Aftermarket transmission tune?

In the past, I've had my cars chipped or reprogrammed, and, while i never experienced uve power gains, I've always considered the best part of the tune the more aggressive automatic transmission perameters.

many on this board have said that tuning a stock car doesn't gain you anything power wise and i have zero interest in doing a bunch of bolt-ons on this car and paying for dyno time, but im wondering if someone makes a canned 7AT tune that is a real improvement over the stock logic. I'd definitely sacrafice some comfort (especially in DS mode) for faster, firmer, and more responsive shifting.

I know they can play with your shift points and line pressure to give more responsive/firmer shifts.

From: Framingham Ma,
you dont have to get a dyno tune, you can do street, Etune. This would be improvement over stock, but honestly if you are going to leave the stock dont bother doing any tuning.

so you are saying there are no improvements that can be made to throttle response, shifting, torque management, power delivery and overall driving experience from a tune on a stock vehicle?

That's essentially what im looking for. In past cars I've found the effects of the tune on the transmission to be a bigger benefit than a measly few horsepower, which is why I don't have a problem with a canned tune.

My uprev tuner stated that the transmission hasn't been broken yet to tune. Is that right? Only engine can be tuned

Yeah, UpRev and EcuTek can both increase line pressure and make shifts better. I think EcuTek has more available to play around with too, but cost vs. benefit for just playing with the transmission.

It hasn't been "broken" to tune yet but they can still do shift points and line pressure. EcuTek has the transmission fully available for the R35 so hopefully that can trickle down to us.

I'm saying IMO it's not worth it to spend $800 or so to "just" have firmer shifts. But in the end it's your $$$. If you feel like spending $800 to have your shifts be firmer then got for it. But if you ever add mod's exhaust, intake, ETC you have to get a retune to take advantage of the mods

Obviously, $800 for a canned tune would be ridiculous, then again, people spend a lot more money to make their cars annoyingly loud and ridiculous looking.

Can anybody confirm if the transmission update from dealership will wipe uprev tune? I have read comments both ways on the site but nothing definitive.
