Question Anyone here gut their cats?

Hey, Forum

I remember from my days on another forum, that a popular method to gain exhaust note and some top end performance, was to gut the cats. I've never done this myself, but I know it has been done before.

Curious...has anyone here ever done it? Test pipes are pretty darn expensive for what is essentially just hollow pipe. And I'm in Texas so I have no worry as far as emissions if that directs your input.

Any input is appreciated. I'd obviously incorporate some defoulers for the CEL.

Best,
Trinity

Edit: Essentially, what I'd like to do, is remove my current cats, gut them and clean them up real well to "make" my own test pipes.

edit: Just saw exhaust sub-thread can a mod please move
