P-0455 & p-0456
It's a 2008 Journey.
I changed the purge valve first because:
1. It is the recommended part (after the tank cap) to change first at the shop. (I tried Auto Zone and O'Reilly's code readers and both came back with the same.
2. When I first started looking into this, there was lack of clarity between the purge valve and the vent vale. For a while I thought they were the same, then finally I got some clarity. (Many people call one or the other valve by the wrong name).
3. When the Armada came back with that same code, we changed the purge valve and the problem was resolved.
Many places will say the the purge valve on the Coupe is underneath behind the rear right tire - that is NOT true. The purge valve is under the hood, in the back, towards the firewall. The VENT valve is the one that's underneath and it is a pain to change; it comes out by 1/4 of a counterclockwise turn, but there's suspension in the way, so you have to loosen the entire canister system and move it to the side.
All this now with the benefit of hindsight.....
Hope this helps others avoid the mess we went through...... thanks!
