Matic K transmission fluid??

So I'm freaking out a little bit.

Took my car to a Nissan dealership today for a transmission fluid drain/fill (7AT) The car seemed to be running smooth on my way home.

Once I got home, I looked at my invoice, and it said that they used Matic K for the transmission fluid.

I immediately called nissan and asked why they used it instead of Matic S. They simply told me that they looked it up and that's what the car uses.

I'm scared to drive my car now, because I don't know if that fluid will cause any damage

Anyone know if it is safe? I have a 50mile commute to and from work everyday

I did a little research and apparently it's used for fwd auto transmissions on maximas

What does your owners manual say?

Owners manual says to use Matic S ATF. I'm not sure what effect Matic K will have on the transmission, but if you really wanted to, you could go back to the dealership and ask for the service manager. Demand to have them replace the ATF with Matic S and show them the specification from the owner's manual. They should do it free of charge since they did not follow the required standard.

I went back to the dealership. Turns out that the person who made the bill made a mistake and billed me for Matic K

Talked to the tech who worked on my car and he said he definitely used Matic S and the showed me the printout he used to verify. They assured me that they wouldn't make that big of a mistake.

I would definitely hold onto that receipt and if I had transmission problems down the road, contact infiniti and get it replaced for free.
