I ****ing hate New Jersey. Useless, non-english speaking, minimum wage drone filled my car with 18 gallons of regular despite my explicit instructions and the big warning label on the fuel door.

I don't think we can actually 'feel' the difference with just one tank of 87.. maybe you can feel it difference between car with 91 all its life vs a car with 87 with all its life.

Not sure i get what you're saying. Knock sensors pull timing to prevent predetonation. If it took several tanks of 87 to do that, what would be the point?

 

That's the only gas that Telcoman runs in his G and he's been doing that for 2 Gs and about 170k miles. I'm surprised he hasn't jumped on this thread yet

Calm down, OP. Just run it empty and refill. The knock sensor will take care of ignition timing, and you might be a little more sluggish at certain points, not that you would really notice. The car is designed for 91 octane, but it's genuinely not a big deal to run a tank of 87 by accident. If you're really, really worried, a bottle of octane boost might ease your mind.

I hear you about NJ. I really, really don't want someone else pumping gas into my car, but it's a law there, right? Weird.

If I ever have to pass through NJ, will make sure to fuel up just before entering the state. It's what, about 200 miles across the length of the state. G is good for at least 400 miles.

All jokes aside, you probably lost a few horses up top but were you planning on tracking the car? If it makes you feel any better, you could always fill it with 93 halfway through the tank.
