But the title doesn't make sense? Supercharging and boosting are the same thing essentially? what are you asking? Sounds like you want opinions on whether or not to go forced induction on your car. I personally think the power/$$$ return is ridiculous on these cars. If you're going to hire a shop to do the work for you, then you're better off swapping the motor with something that has more potential and reliability. Otherwise, expect to pay $8-9k for a supercharged car that you'll be afraid to drive hard.

There are many different factors to consider.

For example- It may partly depend upon what year your car is currently and how much you owe.

Assuming you have a car that is paid off..If you have a 2009- I say no. The money you put into the car could almost match the value of the car and then you will have tweaks along the way.

If your car is newer then perhaps its more worth it.

Either way you will put out money that you most likely wont get back.

Personally I would also factor on how long I plan to keep the car.

if you're only concerned about acceleration- then if you do it right I think it would be worth it. But that is a subjective point of view. Whats worth it to some is not worth it to others.

So reliability is an issue with these motors?

It's a 2011. I'm debating because I might get a chance to trade it in for a 6MT. If it is I might just keep it.

On a stock motor no, not at all an issue, its a beast. But after reaching the 500hp+ mark no one really knows what happens...

Yea I don't plan on going overboard. Might just keep the auto then.

I hate to be the person who says this but if you have to ask the question then I would just skip it. A few bolt ons and a tune would put a smile on your face without sinking 5-8k into a car that you will never ever see a return on. Simple matter of fact is that once someone sees the car the heavily moddified the value sinks tremendously unless you find that ONE person who just has to have it. Either that or plan on keeping the car for many years.

My suggestion: intake, exhaust, possibly gears, tune.

Meh, only partly true. Were talking about a 2 door sports car, the demography of most buyers in the market for one will likely mod it anyway. I see what you mean though. If we drove a Cadillac CTS or Nissan maxima sure, most people looking for a comfy sedan don't want it turbo'd, by all means.

I've got intake, art pipes, and exhaust with a tune. I'm content for now. But eventually will boost it. I don't plan on selling it down the line

I totally overlooked your mod list thinking this was a post from a new person. Then by all means supercharge it. Let me warn you though that the "300" mark made you happy...so will the "400" mark then you will soon want the "500" so on and so forth. I hit 300 with my mazdaspeed then pushed to 350 then 400 and at 400 wished I had bought the next size turbo instead of the one I did swap lol...this was roughly a week after hitting 400whp
