In the engine diagram it looks like they are some sort of a solid type lifter

I do have bad sway bar end links, I know what they sound like. This is different.
If anyone that had driven a manual has experienced a misshift where you try to take off in 3rd gear, and for that brief moment you hear the lifters chatter before you step on the clutch. That is what is sounds like.
Now that I think of it, I think it happens when you try to accelerate from a roll, where the tranny is in second gear, not first.

My aftermarket varrstoen wheels on my Audi making clicking noise at very low speeds I think it might be the center cap is a little loose on the Wheel do you have aftermarket wheels

i do have volk gts' but i had them on my g35 prior with no issues. im pretty sure its not wheels related. its jus odd that the sound only occurs when i let off the gas pedal.

this is basically wat it sounds like when driving along a wall or parked cars

I have this exact same issue with my 2009 G37x. It happens infrequently when slowly accelerating and lasts 1-2 seconds. It could well be a bad hydraulic lifter but it only happens now and then i.e. every other day or so.

I get my oil changed at the dealer, I noticed it more right after the oil change.
Last week, I was pulling away from a stop, and it started chattering and would not stop until I took my foot off the gas. At that point it went away and didn't come back.
I don't hear it as much now. I don't know, maybe it's bad gas?
I've actually started looking into trading it in...I am a bit afraid I am sitting on a ticking time bomb.

So for anyone that cares, the rattle continued until my car threw codes for low oil pressure. It ended up having blown one of the rear timing gaskets.
What was also discovered during the repair is that the cam and especially crank gears took a hell of a beating. Maybe the timing chain stretched and was causing rattling, maybe because of the low oil pressure...who knows.
The rattle is now gone, the gaskets were repaired, and new timing chain and crank sprocket were installed.

From: Framingham Ma,
man I keep seeing these threads and making me worried about my 09 with almost 102k on her, maybe I should look at trading it in too. Only saving grace I have is I'm still under warranty till 118k.

I think it's prudent to monitor oil pressure. Had I done that, I probably would have had this repaired under warranty. The rattling noise started while the warranty was still valid, but it was so random, I didn't want to waste time trying to get the dealer to look into it.
I also didn't drive the car a lot, it was in the shop for over 3 months getting body work done.
In the grand scheme of things, the repair isn't cheap, but it's not terribly expensive at $2k. At the same time, I have better things to spend $2k on than fixing a daily driver, the amount of **** I could have bought for my M5...grrr.
