^^^ True, but don't forget about the toque multiplication at the diff.
If we have 240 foot pounds of engine torque in 5th gear (1:1) that results in 240 foot-lbs of torque at the input to the diff/drive shaft.

240 x 3.357 (diff ratio) = 805 foot-lbs at the drive axle.

The 1:1 gear is the most efficient and results in a more accurate dyno.

In your link you have 2 M/T cars with .2 sec difference in the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times as they were done on different tracks with different drivers by different magazines under different conditions. You also have an A/T tested by a 3rd magazine under a 3rd set of conditions that is also different by .2 sec. from one of the M/T cars.

The A/T could very well be quicker than the M/T due to the gearing differences, but until we see results of the two cars under the same conditions we cannot be sure as the results are so close.

Yes people who like to row their own gears, are often referred to as true enthusiasts, you're exactly right, TO ME any car with a DCT or AT is inferior, and again TO ME, so if you got a problem with that, then cry me a river. Yes I choose my car based on which models come stick, then I go from there. it's a different story if you can have a few cars, one a fun everyday 6mt car and then another just pure performance track or 1/4 mile oriented car with DCT or AT otherwise I'm all about 6MT if two or more cars don't come into play.

We were all discussing AT vs MT, then you start slinging how inferior the AT is and how those who drive MT are true enthusiasts and now your call me a moron? Why ? Because my opinion does not agree with yours?

Just read his comments, in bold above....your basically saying that probably 60% or greater of this forum drive inferior cars to your 4 door sedan with a MT and that we are not "true" enthusiasts.........your a joke...

okay .. these AT/ MT debates always end up the same way. The topic has been discussed to death since the beginning of this forums creation. Since people cant just keep it to the topic at hand and folks want to make this a "who is better/ not an enthusiast etc.. because they drive what is better debate" time to close it...
