q50 tranmission module (ECU) in G37

Anyone know what would happen if one where to connect the transmission ECU from the Q50 into the G37?

Looking at the parts they seems to be plug and play, same cable connectors etc.

I tried to see if the G37 TCM was listed as "other applications" for the Q50, but I couldn't find the TCM in any parts listing.

Do you have a part number?

Not sure if infiniti have changed the software or something but recent Q50 loaners are shifting very quickly and they really like to hold third gear like I do lol.
May be its time for me to get my g37 sedan's ecu tuned :/

I notice that too. Q50 shifts noticeably quicker especially in manual mode.

you should just be able to get the software update for the one in your G. I blew a sensor in my transmission, and my friend, who just so happens to be the foreman at a nearby infiniti dealership upated my tcm software to a version based on the q50 software while replacing the sensor. Shifts are much faster now in M, smoother in D and DS, and there is even a very slight, almost unnoticeable fuel economy increase. (went from 13.2 l/100k to 13.0 after a week of driving)
