Carbon Fiber Engine Cover

Hey all,

Real quick question..

I just received my carbon fiber engine cover in the mail.

However, its just the cover and has no heat shield with it.... Should I go out and apply that "sponge" like material to the bottom of this one?

Thanks!

You don't require the sponge like heat shield underneath it. I've been running my carbon fiber engine cover without it for a long time on my TT VQ and it gets crazy hot in there. Not a single warp or blemish from it.

^^ with that being said it wouldn't hurt to add it I guess but if it's not necessary why bother... but if it puts you in more comfort go for it

You don't need it but you might depending on who made it. I purchased a used Status Elite one about 4 years ago and it still looks brand new and it doesn't have that heat shield you speak of.

Can you post a picture of it when you are done installing it. I want to see how it looks.
