4.08 gear ratio

Totally new to this whole myg37 website. I own a 6mt 08 g37 coupe and was wondering if anyone that goes to the track could post a few vids of a 0 to 60 with the 4.08 gear ratio? That would be really nice. And please do tell me if I'm ***** up by posting this where I am thanks guys!

i don't think anyone has any 0-60 videos..but getting gear for 0-60 times is pointless there is very little traction though the first few gears

not hard to search around and find some on youtube
here about as good as your going to get..

Wow, they are so close its hard to even tell. I hear its an obvious butt dyno difference and by those dyno numbers right above me, there's a difference on paper too.

Dyno numbers change because of the gears... The car takes off like a rocket once you get used to them and learn how to launch..I wouldnt go back to stock gearing for anything..
Just like the video from a dead stop its hard not to spin and get a good 0-60
But if your rolling the car pulls very hard

I got in the 4.08 gears and absolutely love them... but i'm going bk to stock gearing by the end of the year.... wanna know why? because Boost! thats why!

i haven't had the leisure of making it back to the track with the new shorter gearing but what i can say, the stock 245 sized tires gonna have a hard time putting the power to the ground...

Even though this link is talking about the gears in a truck, it should help you to understand what is basically happening.

Basically lets you accelerate faster. No horsepower gain. You just go to higher RPM band faster due to the gears. Take a look at the video, see how fast the 4.08 goes to redline while stock gear makes a slow climb.

Downide, your RPMS will be higher at cruise. Example. You used to be at 2800RPM cruising 80MPH. After 4.08 you'll be at 3400RPM going 80MPH.

Do you guys know the ballpark price range for 4.08 gears in a 7at? I know you need a manual diff housing from a standard g35/z33/g37/z34 for the autos. How many hours of labor?
