Paddle shifter kit question...

I'm sorry if this was answered in a different thread but I did my search and I could not find anything. I own a 2010 g37x coupe and was wondering how do I know if my car is able to accept the paddle shifter kit? Any advice or input would be highly appreciated. And I will not ask how to install them because I'm 99% sure I read a DIY thread about that lol Thanks a lot guys.

Kenny

Pull the steering wheel column trim off and see if you've got plugs, shouldn't take you long at all.

And if it's going to be too difficult to install, I'll be a bud and take 'em off your hands. LOL

I didn't even buy them yet lol I'm currently working on outside cosmetic mods and then jumping right into the interior I just wanted to make sure I could use them before I spend the money on an entire kit. Maybe wait for someone to post one for sale but they seem to go extremely fast whenever they pop up! And after reading that thread I don't think there's anyway possible I'd feel comfortable enough to do this modification myself

You might not like the paddles as much as you think you would. They have like a 1 second delay, and when I use the shifter, its instantaneous.

If I do go through with it I'd get a grounding kit which I heard helps great with the lag. I gotta find someone l preferably a forum member I can get to install it for me. I'd pay them at least $100 for the labor lol

Do you really have to take off the wheel to remove the cover? That's crazy. If the ground is installed is it as fast as the shifter? If not then they are ornaments to me.

You do not have to remove the wheel.

I installed paddles and the grounding kit and they seem to be about the same in shift speed. They aren't meant to be faster, it's basically for the drivers enjoyment.

I tried the other day and couldn't remove them. Frustrating as hell. I do have the wiring. I can't believe that anyone wouldn't since mine is base base base. I hear everyone has the wires.

do a search on youtube, you'll find that when you pull the covers off, there is grey taped that is wrapped around yellowish foam that is attached to other wires (pertaining to your steering wheel functions). If you do not have the grey tape on the foam, you probably do not have the options. If you do have the grey tape, there are white connectors on the left and on the right lower side. bolt in, plug and play after that. Hope this helps, just did mine last weekend.

Unsure about that but I know there are some threads about people asking about rewrapping. Tons of threads in the simple search button
