Sorry to hear that... buying a used car can be a gamble.
Looks like used tranny on eBay is about $1,000. You may want to get a quote from a local tranny shop to remove & install.

Yeah it sucks. Just thought since I'm gonna have to buy a new or used one, you guys might know a good place to get a really beefed up/well built transmission somewhere.

you just have the IPL with no forced induction right? if so, you can find a used transmission for around 2k. you can get a fully built transmission installed for around 5k. The price they quoted you is ludicrous.

I agree, I'm not spending that kind of money on AT that obviously has issues that I was unaware of until I started reading the horror stories on here.

I've got quotes from both Gamma motors in Ca and Level 10 transmissions in NJ. Level 10 is the cheapest so far. I've also heard good things about them on here. Anyone know which company is best?

I bought a Takeda CAI, but I haven't had a chance to put it on due to AT issues. So no I don't, but will one day!

LMAO 9k, you can buy a used trans with a warranty and fly me 1st class both ways, toss me $1500 for labor and still have several thousand in your pocket.. I would have laughed in their face.

Level 10 built my transmission. awesome customer service. I would send your car out to them if I were you though so they can work out any bugs that might come up after the install. They installed mine a month ago and i'm still having issues with it so i finally sent it out to them so they can figure it out. I wish i had sent it out in the first place. costs about the same to ship the whole car to them as it does to have someone pull the transmission out and send it

It's shipping today. The Nissan dealership will be putting it in since my car has been there for 2 weeks. I talked to the dealer after I purchased the AT and asked if they could put it in and they said it would be no problem at all, so we'll see I guess. Maybe i should call Pat and see if there is any updates that should be done to the ECU or any of the AT computer. Pat may have some info he can fax the dealer to help with the install. I'm unfamiliar with the terminology but I've read some things about it on here.

it would have costed you the same to ship the car out to them and have it done there. That way they could actually diagnose any problems that might come up after the install. I hope you have no issues.

In retrospect I wish I would have too. Lesson learned!

Finally got my car last night, was driving fine until this morning then it started having pretty bad throttle response. Maybe needs to be tuned because it's not a Infiniti transmission? Any ideas would be appreciated.
