Like i said, the dealer i bought it from got it certified. Nissan corp ****ed up and they will be paying for everything. I had to pay the 320 dollar bill for them to deny my warranty and I'll get that paid back within a week
Not set in stone yet, but I most likely will get a full factory replacement engine. Thanks to everyone for your support and advice.

Next question....what is your suggestion from experience the proper way to break in the new engine? The man who mentored me when i used to work in the auto industry said if you drive it like you race that's how you break it in........and go.?

13.5k?? that's so expensive. There should be a way to use the warranty. This is ridiculous.

This is a topic that is almost as hotly debated as engine oil. That said, it's probably safest to gradually introduce higher revs and wider throttle openings. Never place a large load on a cold engine. Feather the throttle until it's up to normal operating temperature.

Personally, I'd follow the break-in recommendations in the owner's manual. That way, if the replacement engine grenades, Infiniti won't have any ammunition to use to deny a warranty claim.

I'm really happy that they're replacing the engine under warranty. When I read that they had denied your claim, my blood started to boil.

The dealer I bought my car from is pressing this issue with Infinity and they still don't want to back down. I'm still in a free rental, but this is getting ridiculous! The dealership insists Infinity will be paying for it one way or another. Just have to sit and wait I guess.

I got a call from the Infinity regional manager saying they will stand by their decision to void the warranty and I can feel free to take any other course of action legally or otherwise. Either way after this is all said and done I am done with Infinity/Nissan. They obviously don't care about keeping customers coming back.

Sorry to hear, super ****ty situation. I can't say I totally blame Infiniti though, if the previous owner never changed the oil or something along those lines it's not a warranty concern when the engine has issues.

Climbed the corperate ladder all the way to the company VP. Long block will be replaced and any money i spent will also be paid back. Got a shiny lincoln suv to drive until my car is fix. I'm so exited to finally be done with this and get back in my G!

This thread is quite the roller coaster of event...glad to hear that Infiniti is back you up though. I guess the moral of the story is to escalate major issues to the senior management level?

Is it infiniti or the lincoln dealer who's picking up the bill?

How did that conversation go? What did you say that made the VP help you when the dealership wouldnt?
