P1091, code set today

Was running around today. Got in the car after being part for 15 min and had no power. Check engine light was on. I have a code reader in the car so I pulled it up and got a P1091. Was able to clear it, and normal power was back.

Will this becoming back or would it just be a momentary thing.

Just a little searching led to: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...r-problem.html

Might need to take it to the dealer for a reflash if it reoccurs.

I had the same code and problem with my g37 sedan. My car is currently in the shop being inspected. Did the issue ever reoccur for you since you cleared the code?

No repeat as of today. Just glad I had a code reader in the car.

Thanks for the update! That's good to hear. My mechanic has not been able to get the code to repeat and thinks it may have a been fluke. I guess I'll just drive it and hope for the best

Since I am very new to the Infiniti side of things, I am not very knowledgeable on how the variable timing system works. One of my prior cars, 2007 BMW 328xi, would throw a similar code when the VANOS system was having issues. The solenoids were prone to failure on those cars. Do we have any components with the variable valve timing that are known weak spots? I ask due to your code being related to that system.
