Smile What RPM do you shift at?

Hey Guys,

Just got the car about 3 weeks ago. I have heard many folks say "this is the hardest car to perfect the shifting on". I just wanted a little insight.

1st to 2nd, what RPM do you shift at? Along with any other upshift combos i.e. 2>3, 3>4, etc.

Also, I ask to see what the ideal RPM shift points for a smooth transition and MPG balance.

input appreciated.

From: Framingham Ma,
I'm guessing your a manual. Unless you like me and drive the auto in manual mode 100% of the time. Normal driving I shift between 3-3500 RPM's, WOT 7800! LOL but of course normal driving conditions change so those shifts can change, but never before 3k ever

For normal driving I usually shift around 2700-2800 RPMs. For some acceleration I shift around 3500-3700. I'm no expert though, maybe I'm doing it wrong. '11 S coupe.

You're doing it wrong if you're not shifting at redline every time....

I don't really ever shift at less than 5-6k, even when driving "lightly"... Probably why my MPGs are in the low teens.

Back in my motorcycle days, when we did spirited rides, practically every take off was winding the motor out (8-11K rpm). It's no wonder the rear tire wore out so quick. MPG wasn't an issue. Still managed mid 20's. With the 2 brother's pipe, you could hear this liter bike from half a mile away. The neighbors loved me

Hey guys, if you all could post the MPG you are receiving with your shift points, that would be a good metric.
